Toyota hints at roll-down rear window feature for 2025 4Runner

The latest teaser for the upcoming 2025 Toyota 4Runner has been released, confirming that the SUV will feature a roll-down rear window. The reveal date for the 4Runner is set for April 9, and the teaser gives us a glimpse of its rear-end design and interior.

Outside, the new LED taillights are highlighted in the teaser. The all-caps “Toyota” text is prominently featured in the center of the tailgate, surrounded by texturized trim pieces. The design of the rear is a departure from the current subtle Toyota badge, giving the new 4Runner a more rugged and truck-like appearance. The up and down arrows beside the Toyota badge are likely controls for the rear window. The roof rails in a brushed silver finish add to the SUV’s look.

Looking through the open rear window, a large touchscreen interface is visible inside the 4Runner. The setup resembles the latest software interface seen in other Toyota vehicles, particularly the new Tacoma. The interior also features a central volume knob and a start/stop switch near the touchscreen. The fully digital instrument cluster is partially visible through the driver’s headrest.

The 4Runner’s interior shares similarities with the Tacoma, including the shape of the passenger side vent and the silver finish. The instrument hood design is also reminiscent of the Tacoma’s. When the 4Runner is revealed on April 9, expect its interior to closely resemble that of the Tacoma.
